Rep. Juan Ciscomani has emerged as a vocal advocate for clean energy and pragmatic climate solutions within the halls of Congress and in his home state of Arizona. It’s this leadership and his membership to the Conservative Climate Caucus that makes him an ideal choice to be our November CRESponsible Leader.
Supporting commonsense policy solutions like these that prioritize his district and our country’s energy security is the norm for Rep. Ciscomani. The Congressman was a co-signer of a letter sent to Republican leadership of the House of Representatives explaining the importance of protecting critical clean energy tax credits from future spending cuts – the same tax credits that are bringing jobs to Arizona.
Recognizing the strategic importance of critical minerals for clean energy technology, Rep. Ciscomani led the Critical Mineral Consistency Act. This legislation underscores his commitment to reducing our reliance on foreign entities competitors like China for critical minerals essential for solar panels, wind turbines, and battery storage and EVs.
Rep. Ciscomani also voted for the Unlocking Our Domestic LNG Potential Act, which promotes energy independence by expanding the liquefied natural gas (LNG) market, a key energy resource that has allowed the U.S. to decrease energy-related CO2 emissions by approximately 15 percent since 2005. Compared to natural gas from other countries like Russia, American LNG is cleaner and exporting it to our European allies means lowers global emissions and less profits for our foreign adversaries.
Rep. Ciscomani is also working to reduce emissions here at home by supporting the Fix Our Forests Act, which aims to use smart forest management tactics to prevent wildfires in the U.S. which release millions of metric tons of carbon into our atmosphere.
To meet increasing energy demands prompted by growth of artificial intelligence, Rep. Ciscomani voted for the Accelerating Deployment of Versatile, Advanced Nuclear for Clean Energy (ADVANCE) Act, bipartisan legislation that will permit a new generation of nuclear reactors in the United States.
Rep. Ciscomani also co-sponsored a resolution to recognize National Clean Energy Week (NCEW) for two consecutive years—celebrating the technologies and policies that are producing new jobs and adding clean energy to our grid.
For all these reasons and more, Rep. Ciscomani’s CRESponsible Leader title is well-deserved. Thank you, Rep. Ciscomani, for your leadership in advancing commonsense, all-of-the-above energy solutions that work for all Americans.
