CRES Announces Congressman Chuck Fleischmann as Newest Member of the House Clean Energy & Innovation Working Group

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Citizens For Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) announced that Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03) has joined the House Clean Energy and Innovation Working Group. The group was formed in 2016 by House Republicans seeking to harness the power of the free market to bring clean energy technologies to market that stimulate domestic job creation, bolster the economy, and preserve the quality of our pristine lands and waters.

“I am proud to serve the Third District of Tennessee, which has a strong history of government investment in our key national security facilities such as Y-12 and energy research engines that drive our economy like the Oak Ridge National Laboratory,” said Rep. Chuck Fleischmann (TN-03). “I am committed to ensuring that we properly fund those programs that are critical to East Tennessee and our national security.”

“CRES applauds Rep. Chuck Fleischmann for becoming the newest addition to the House Clean Energy and Innovation Working Group,” said CRES Managing Director Heather Reams. “Voters want and expect commonsense, clean energy solutions from Congress that balance free-market economics and environmental stewardship. This working group helps to build consensus among a geographically diverse set of pragmatic Republicans to strengthen our national security, bolster our economy, achieve domestic energy independence, and preserve our natural resources for generations to come.”

Rep. Fleischmann joins thirteen other Republicans from across America, including Reps. Mark Amodei (NV-02), Barbara Comstock (VA-10), Ryan Costello (PA-06), Carlos Curbelo (FL-26), Brian Fitzpatrick (PA-08), Garret Graves (LA-06), Adam Kinzinger (IL-16), Pat Meehan (PA-07), Tom Reed (NY-23), Dave Reichert (WA-08), Elise Stefanik (NY-21), Kevin Yoder (KS-03), Rep. Ted Yoho (FL-03) in seeking to build consensus in support of responsible clean energy solutions in Congress.
