May 16, 2018

WASHINGTON, DC – Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams released the following statement regarding today’s U.S. House Appropriations Committee markup of the FY2019 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.

“Today, the House Appropriations Committee advanced legislation to fund key programs at the U.S. Department of Energy that will drive innovation, strengthen national security and create good-paying American jobs,” said CRES Managing Director Heather Reams. “CRES applauds Chairman Mike Simpson and Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen for their leadership in securing robust funding levels for other energy research and development programs. These programs foster clean energy and storage technology development, accelerate its commercialization and allow the U.S. to maintain its global leadership and competitive edge. As the bill moves to House floor consideration, CRES urges House Republicans to continue their support for critical clean energy research, development and deployment by continuing to invest in these programs for the long-term.”
