WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams issued the following statement on President Trump’s remarks at the Department of Energy during the Administration’s Unleashing American Energy Event.
“The President’s speech at the Department of Energy underscores his Administration’s support for policies that revive and expand our nation’s nuclear energy sector, and indicated a desire to adhere to priorities capable of fostering robust innovation and a growing American workforce,” said Reams.
“While Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions welcomes President Trump’s embrace of an all-of-the-above energy strategy to ensure American energy dominance, we encourage his Administration to invest in advanced energy technologies that are achieving results for taxpayers today. Instead of reducing our role as an international leader in energy technology, the U.S. should seek to expand it into an America First effort aimed at developing the next generation of smart grids, advanced nuclear reactors, energy storage, and carbon-reducing energy technologies that will lead to greater domestic energy and economic security.”
