WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams released the following statement on President Donald Trump’s address to a Joint Session of Congress:
“CRES joins in the President’s call to ensure a legacy of clean air and clean water for this and future generations. We also echo his charge that now is the time to revitalize American manufacturing and create good, high-paying jobs at home. We can, and we must achieve both outcomes.
“We call upon the President and Congress to work together on solutions that will unleash our full energy and economic potential through continued investment in clean energy R&D, supporting the ingenuity of American entrepreneurs and cutting red-tape that stifles innovation and development. From South Carolina to Iowa, and Nevada to New Hampshire clean energy is delivering real results for American energy independence, a healthy environment, and job creation that can’t be outsourced.
“During the months ahead, CRES is prepared to work with Members of Congress and the Trump Administration to champion renewable energy reforms that will help to produce real results for people across the country. This starts with the U.S. Senate confirming the qualified individuals President Trump has nominated to serve in his cabinet, including former Governor Rick Perry and Congressman Ryan Zinke, who understand the value of clean energy.”
