CRES Statement on President Trump’s 2018 Budget

March 16, 2017

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This morning, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams released the following statement on President Trump’s 2018 budget.

“Republican support and their electoral successes in recent elections hinged on the party’s forward-looking commitments to streamline government and strengthen federal investments that spur job creation and manufacturing development at home. The most fiscally-responsible way to accomplish these objectives is through the advancement of clean energy. Cutting and streamlining existing bureaucratic regulations, infrastructure modernization to include renewable energies and efficiencies, investment in research and development, and increasing renewable resource access on federal lands carry the potential to play a major role in ushering in an American energy renaissance,” said Reams.

“CRES has established good working relationships with a host of clean energy champions in the House and Senate, including Senators Lisa Murkowski, Lamar Alexander and Lindsey Graham, and Congressmen Greg Walden and Charlie Dent. We look forward to working with them as well as the growing membership of the bicameral Republican Energy, Innovation and Environmental Working Groups to prioritize responsible clean energy solutions that protect and improve the quality of our natural resources, air and water.”
