WASHINGTON, D.C. – Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams released the following statement on today’s U.S. Senate Appropriations Committee markup of the FY2019 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.

“The Senate Appropriations Committee advanced legislation today to fund critical U.S. Department of Energy programs that spur American job growth, bolster national security and allow the U.S. to maintain its competitive edge,” said CRES Managing Director Heather Reams. “CRES applauds Chairman Richard Shelby and Chairman Lamar Alexander for leading the way in securing robust funding levels for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and other energy research and development programs that drive American innovation in clean energy and storage technology development. As the bill moves toward final passage, CRES urges Members of the Senate to maintain their support for clean energy solutions and commonsense investments in these critical programs.”
