WASHINGTON, D.C. – Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Executive Director Heather Reams issued the following statement on Senator Susan Collins’ introduction of the Better Energy Storage Technology Act, or BEST Act.

“We thank Senators Susan Collins, Cory Gardner, and Martha McSally and Representatives Jaime Herrera Beutler and Anthony Gonzalez for their continued leadership and support surrounding clean energy issues. Senator Collins is a CRES Clean Energy Champion, and she understands the importance and duty to our country to engage and lead on issues that offer Americans more choices for cleaner, reliable, and more affordable sources of power. The Better Energy Storage Technology (BEST) Act strengthens our nation’s energy storage RD&D and we support legislation that works toward the rapid commercialization of clean energy technologies, including grid-scale storage research and other breakthrough technologies.”
