WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams issued the following statement upon the release of the House Appropriations Committee fiscal 2018 energy and water spending bill.
“Federal investments in advanced technology and energy research represent critical elements of American ingenuity, innovation and global influence,” said Reams. “While the House Appropriations Committee’s support for infrastructure and nuclear modernization represents progress, provisions to eliminate funding for ARPA-E remain as a threat to our domestic energy and economic security. Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions urges Republican leaders with a history of supporting innovative research and renewable energy, including Rep. Mike Simpson and Rep. Rodney Frelinghuysen, to take steps to maintain the current level of funding for ARPA-E.”
