WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) announced the launch of CRES Forum, 501(c)(3) non-partisan, non-profit organization that will educate the public and influence the national conversation about commonsense clean energy solutions. Charles Hernick will serve as CRES Forum’s Director of Policy & Advocacy, lead CRES Forum’s policy work and execute strategies to advance clean energy solutions and innovative approaches to reducing carbon emissions.

“It is time for commonsense, market-friendly clean energy solutions to address America’s energy challenges,” said Hernick. “I am honored to join this dynamic and talented team and look forward to leading and growing CRES Forum as a national leader in educating the public, developing policy, and advocating for innovative, pro-growth, and environmentally sustainable energy solutions.”

He previously advised executive-level decision-makers at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and U.S. Agency for International Development on energy and environmental issues, and identified project-level opportunities for clean energy expansion. Hernick has routinely advised Republican candidates seeking public office on energy and economic growth including Ed Gillespie and other state-level candidates in Virginia. In 2016, he was the Republican nominee for the U.S. House of Representatives in Virginia’s 8th Congressional District.
