On behalf of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES), I am writing in support of the nomination of Lane Genatowski to be director of the Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E).
If confirmed, Mr. Genatowski would bring important private sector experience to a federal program that has launched critical investments in next-generation energy technologies. ARPA-E supports “high-risk, high-reward” research through a highly selective process to identify innovative technologies that would benefit from the supports provided by the program, with the eventual goal of private sector commercialization. Mr. Genatowski’s background and strong support for ARPA-E’s mission will ensure the program remains focused on investing and launching in the most promising of new technologies.
CRES urges the Senate to swiftly confirm Lane Genatowski to serve as director of the ARPA-E program.
