On behalf of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES), I am writing in support of the nomination of Dr. Rita Baranwal to be an Assistant Secretary of Energy for Nuclear Energy.
Dr. Baranwal is exceptionally qualified to lead this critical mission at the U.S. Department of Energy. Her private sector experience in nuclear technology development, coupled with her leadership role in nuclear energy at the Idaho National Laboratory and strong connections to leading academic research institutes, gives her the experience and tools needed to strengthen US leadership of this vital energy source. If confirmed, CRES looks forward to working with Dr. Baranwal to promote policies that will increase abundant, affordable and low emissions energy production.
