WASHINGTON, D.C. – Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams released the following statement upon this evening’s U.S. Senate passage of the FY2019 Energy and Water Development and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.

“The Senate passed legislation today to fund U.S. Department of Energy programs that are critical to driving American innovation in clean energy and storage technology development, protecting our national security and creating good paying jobs here at home,” said CRES Managing Director Heather Reams. “CRES congratulates Chairman Richard Shelby and Chairman Lamar Alexander on their efforts to ensure robust funding levels for the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE), Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) and other energy research and development programs that maintain U.S. leadership and competitiveness in clean energy. As the bill moves toward conference with House appropriators, CRES looks forward to working with Chairman Rodney Frelinghuysen, Chairman Mike Simpson and other clean energy champions in Congress to encourage their continued support for commonsense, free market solutions and investments in these critical programs.”
