CRES Statement on Senate Passage of the USE IT Act

JUNE 27, 2019, WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Executive Director Heather Reams released the following statement after the U.S. Senate passed the Fiscal Year 2020 National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The Senate-passed NDAA includes the CRES-backed Utilizing Significant Emissions with Innovative Technologies (USE IT) Act (S.383).

“Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions applauds the Senate for including the USE IT Act as part of its annual defense authorization bill. The USE IT Act will build on America’s continued leadership role in carbon dioxide capture, utilization and sequestration research, development and deployment,” said Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Executive Director Heather Reams. “We urge the U.S. House of Representatives to pass the USE IT Act, and thank Chairman John Barrasso, Chairman Jim Inhofe, and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for their stewardship in passing this bill through the chamber.”
