WASHINGTON, D.C. – Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Executive Director Heather Reams issued the following statement on the Senate confirmation of Daniel Simmons.
“CRES congratulates Daniel Simmons on his Senate confirmation to serve as Assistant Secretary, U.S. Department of Energy, leading the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). We are confident in Mr. Simmons’ leadership and appreciate his commitment to supporting renewable energy sources and his understanding of the role that the free market, consumer choice, and innovation play in developing new energy technologies. We look forward to working with him in the new year. We also thank Chairman Lisa Murkowski and Majority Leader Mitch McConnell for their leadership through the confirmation process.”
