CRES Participates in United Nations Climate Change Conference COP25

CRES Senior Staff to Join Business Council for Sustainable Energy for Dec. 9th Press Conference

WASHINGTON, D.C. — This week Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) will be onsite at the 25th Conference of the Parties (COP 25) of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) in Madrid, Spain.

CRES Executive Director Heather Reams and Director of Policy and Advocacy Charles Hernick will attend the summit and participate in many of the convening’s activities. On Monday, December 9th, Reams will join the Business Council for Sustainable Energy (BCSE), a coalition of companies and associations from the energy efficiency, natural gas and renewable energy sectors, for a press conference entitled “Powering Impact: Clean Energy Solutions for COP 25” starting at 10:00am EST/16:00pm CET. U.S.-based media are encouraged to watch the press conference by visiting the UNFCCC website.

Reams recently called for more Republican lawmakers to engage on the issue of climate change. In a Real Clear Politics op-ed and television appearance on MSNBC’s Velshi & Ruhle, Reams argued for Republicans to come to the table and offer commonsense plans to address the threats posed by climate change.
