CRES Launches Ads Across Four States Urging Action on Investment Tax Credit for Energy

Ads to Air in Cities Across Colorado, Iowa, Maine and South Dakota

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) today announced the launch of a multi-state radio advertising campaign urging federal lawmakers to prioritize standalone energy storage inclusion in the investment tax credit (ITC). The 60-second radio ads will air on stations across Colorado, Iowa, Maine and South Dakota from Monday, December 9th until Sunday, December 15th.

In Colorado and Maine, the radio ads thank Senators Cory Gardner (R-CO) and Susan Collins (R-ME) for leading on issues that support energy innovation by promoting an investment tax credit for energy storage. In Iowa and South Dakota, the ads urge Senators Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and John Thune (R-SD) to support legislation that includes energy storage in the existing investment tax credit.

“Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions commends Senator Susan Collins and Senator Cory Gardner, both of whom are CRES Clean Energy Champions, for their continued leadership in addressing energy affordability and reliability for their constituents,” said CRES Executive Director Heather Reams. “We look forward to working with Senator Chuck Grassley, Senator John Thune and other members of Congress to advance the investment tax credit for energy storage, which makes energy more efficient, promotes a cleaner environment and catalyzes job growth. We encourage Congress to swiftly act by including this important provision in end-of-year tax legislation.”

Specifically, the radio ads will air in a total of 18 markets: Colorado Springs (CO), Denver-Boulder (CO), Fort Collins-Greeley (CO), Grand Junction (CO), Pueblo (CO), Cedar Rapids (IA), Des Moines (IA), Omaha-Council Bluffs (IA), Quad Cities (IA), Sioux City (IA), Waterloo-Cedar Falls (IA), Augusta-Waterville (ME), Bangor (ME), Portland (ME), Non-Metro Markets (ME), Rapid City (SD), Sioux Falls (SD), and Non-Metro Markets (SD).

Last month, CRES coordinated a lobby day on Capitol Hill with businesses and clean energy advocates in support of the energy storage tax credit.
