SEPTEMBER 12, 2018 – WASHINGTON, D.C. — Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) formally announced its second slate of congressional candidates who have earned the organization’s endorsement in 2018.
“In a tough political year, the Republican candidates who will be successful on Election Day are those who want to solve the big challenges facing our country. Voters are demanding action from their leaders on a wide range of divergent issues, and very few have clear-cut solutions. However, when it comes to growing our economy, enhancing our energy security, and preserving our climate, voters and candidates are embracing the promise of clean energy. Today, CRES proudly endorses a slate of candidates that have a proven track record of leadership and support for the clean energy future Americans want and our economy demands,” said CRES Executive Director James Dozier.

I am grateful to receive the endorsement of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions, and I remain committed to ensuring the implementation of clean energy policies that can revolutionize our economy and national security. It’s these efforts that will foster job creation here at home and help to maintain the quality of our land, air, water, and climate,” said Rep. Barbara Comstock.
“America is transitioning towards an advanced energy future that is growing our economy, creating jobs here at home, and preserving our climate. I have been proud to support policies and regulatory reforms that are spurring innovation in the energy sector and clearing the way for clean energy technologies like wind, solar, and natural gas to compete in the market. I thank Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions for their endorsement, and I look forward to continuing my work in Congress to ensure America continues to be a clean energy leader,” said Rep. Jeff Fortenberry.
“I am proud to receive an endorsement from Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions. In Utah, advanced energy technologies and industries help to grow a dynamic economy in our state that spurs job creation. As I seek reelection, I will continue to fight for bipartisan policies that foster energy innovation, job creation and economic growth for all Utahans,” said Rep. Mia Love.
“I appreciate this endorsement from Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions and their support of my work in Congress. Coastal communities like mine know that it is vital to our economy that we do everything we can to preserve our natural environment. That is why I have worked across the aisle to secure critical funding to restore the Everglades and address the harm caused by toxic algal blooms. I have also joined bipartisan efforts to advance policies that will further the development of domestic clean energy technologies that will enhance America’s economic, climate, and national security,” said Rep. Brian Mast.
“I am proud to receive this endorsement from Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions. Here in Michigan, we are pioneering new energy sources and taking action to ensure those new sources are being put to good use. These emerging technologies create good paying jobs, lower energy costs, and protect our environment and Great Lakes. We must continue to work in a bipartisan way to deliver results for our constituents and I’m glad we have such a fantastic partner with Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions,” said Rep. Fred Upton.
