CRES Applauds Signing of USMCA

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Director of Policy and Advocacy Charles Hernick released the following statement after President Donald J. Trump signed the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in a ceremony held at the White House.

“Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions applauds the Administration and Congress for passing this historic trade deal that empowers domestic energy producers and strengthens America’s competitive edge among foreign markets,” said CRES Director of Policy and Advocacy Charles Hernick. “The United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement puts American energy production back on the map and grows energy jobs at home by bolstering liquefied natural gas exports to our neighbors, and continuing the tariff-free treatment of energy exports. Additionally, this agreement will help attract investment into clean energy by protecting intellectual property and ensure that all countries cannot backslide on their environmental policies. We look forward to the trade pact’s ratification process in Canada and encourage its swift implementation.”
