Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee Advances Bipartisan Initiatives to Support Clean Energy Research, Veterans Entering Energy Jobs
WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Executive Director Heather Reams released the following statement after the U.S. Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee reported out a number of clean energy bills, including legislation (S. 2714) to reauthorize the U.S. Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E) program.
“Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions applauds the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee for its strong support for the ARPA-E program,” said CRES Executive Director Heather Reams. “We are also pleased that the panel advanced key measures supported by CRES to bolster solar, wind and geothermal research, and provide job-training for veterans entering the energy sector. The Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee continues to put forward an impressive number of bipartisan measures to enhance America’s energy security, and that’s due in part to the leadership of Chairman Lisa Murkowski and Ranking Member Joe Manchin. We urge the full United States Senate to take swift action on these measures.”
Last month, CRES expressed its strong support of S.2714 in a letter to Senators Lamar Alexander (R-TN) and Chris Van Hollen (D-MD).
