CRES Applauds Passage of Permitting Reforms to Increase Energy Security, Reduce Global Emissions

WASHINGTON—Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) President Heather Reams released the following statement in response to U.S. Senate passage of the Fiscal Responsibility Act:

“CRES has long advocated for Congress to improve America’s permitting processes to accelerate clean energy deployment and provide certainty for project developers and investors, while protecting important clean energy tax credits.

“The Fiscal Responsibility Act will help remove barriers holding back the deployment of worthy projects that will increase American energy security and reduce global emissions. CRES supports these efforts to streamline permitting processes and reduce regulatory uncertainty. Thank you to the Members of the House and Senate who sent these vital reforms to the President’s desk.

“While this legislation is a step forward, our work is far from over. We encourage Congress to build on this momentum to make further permitting improvements to accelerate deployment of innovative technologies and infrastructure, enhance supply chain security, and unleash vital American resources, including the critical minerals necessary to advance clean energy. CRES looks forward to continuing to work to find common ground on these important issues.”
