CRES Announces Representative Tom Reed as 2018 Clean Energy Champion

SEPTEMBER 21, 2018 — Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) formally announced Representative Tom Reed (NY-23) as a 2018 Clean Energy Champion. Representative Reed will be recognized at the CRES Clean Energy Champion Awards Reception during National Clean Energy Week (September 24-28, 2018).

“Representative Tom Reed has demonstrated a strong commitment to advancing commonsense, clean energy policies that create jobs for New Yorkers, reduce energy consumption and preserve the quality of our natural environment. Additionally, Representative Reed has proven his dedication to promoting clean energy technology as a member of the House Clean Energy and Innovation Working Group. CRES 2018 Clean Energy Champions are Republicans recognized for their steadfast leadership in advancing commonsense clean energy solutions that address our nation’s need for abundant, reliable energy while preserving our environment.

Examples of Representative Tom Reed’s clean energy record include:

  • Acted as the lead sponsor of the POWER Act, legislation that would create jobs, reduce energy consumption, and protect the environment.
  • Co-sponsored the Roofing Efficiency Jobs Act, a bipartisan bill to promote job creation and save businesses and consumers millions of dollars each year on energy bills.
  • Demonstrated a commitment to promoting clean energy technology as a member of the House Clean Energy and Innovation Working Group and promoting good stewardship of our natural environment as a member of the Climate Solutions Caucus.
