CRESponsible Leader: Rep. Frank Lucas

This month, we honored Rep. Frank Lucas (R-Okla.) as April’s CRESponsible Leader for his contributions and achievements in promoting clean energy innovation and his role in shaping the future of energy in the United States.

Rep. Lucas champions an all-above-energy approach. Coming from Oklahoma, a state with a strong mix of traditional fuels and renewable energies, Rep. Lucas is a proponent of cutting emissions, not choices.

This month, CRES President Heather Reams sat down for a conversation with Rep. Lucas discussing the clean energy opportunities and advancements happening in Oklahoma right now. During their conversation, Rep. Lucas highlighted Oklahoma’s wind-generating capacity and the positive effects renewable energy generation is having on the state’s economy. By supporting clean energy solutions, Rep. Lucas is working towards a future where the United States can meet rising energy demands and help lower emissions around the world.

Through his work as the Chairman of the House Committee on Science, Space and Technology and his role on the House Committee on Agriculture, Rep. Frank Lucas has demonstrated his commitment to further clean energy investment and innovation.

Just last month, Chairman Lucas oversaw the advancement of the Innovative Mitigation Partnerships for Asphalt and Concrete Technologies (IMPACT) Act. This legislation encourages the research and development of next generation concrete, cement and asphalt materials that will reduce global emissions and boost American competitiveness.

As a member of the Conservative Climate Caucus, Rep. Lucas has also been a strong proponent of promoting commonsense solutions to address the effects of climate change, including emissions-reducing technologies and conservation efforts.

Rep. Lucas has undoubtedly embraced the Sooner State’s all-of-the-above energy approach. As we look to add clean energy to the grid across the nation, leaders like Rep. Lucas are critical to the advancement of clean technologies. Thank you, Rep. Lucas, for being a CRESponsible Leader!
