CRES Praises Congressional Leaders for Clean Energy Leadership on Tax Reform

Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) began a week-long digital ad buy in ten states praising congressional leaders for incorporating clean energy provisions into H.R. 1, the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act.

The ads, which began running on December 26th, specifically praised Senator Orrin Hatch, Senator John Thune, Senator Lisa Murkowski, Senator Chuck Grassley, Senator Dean Heller, Senator Rob Portman, Representative Kevin Brady, Representative Tom Reed, Representative Patrick Meehan and Representative Carlos Curbelo.

Comprehensive tax reform was long overdue, and CRES was pleased to congratulate Speaker Ryan, Leader McConnell and Republican members of the House Ways and Means Committee, Senate Finance Committee, and conference committee for taking the next step forward in providing Americans with tax relief and a stronger economy. We also applaud the leadership and commitment shown by conservative members in Congress to preserve the economic opportunity and potential associated with clean energy in the 21st Century.

Specifically, CRES is pleased with the reduction in the corporate tax rate and the allowance for 100 percent expensing that will drive investment and innovation in the clean energy sector.

Our hope is that members of the House and Senate maintain their momentum and support additional tax legislation that would include renewable energy tax credits that were eliminated from the conference report.

We look forward to continuing our work with members of the House and Senate to increase support of policies that encourage long-term growth and continued success of the clean energy industry.

This digital ad buy comes on the heels of a highly successful, five-figure digital ad campaign on Facebook and Twitter in early December that focused on influencing conferees, legislative staff and key influencers on tax reform.
