Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions issued the following statement on Senator Bill Cassidy’s (R-LA) landmark Energy & Climate Policy outline:
“Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) applauds Senator Bill Cassidy for outlining a plan to accelerate American-led innovation, create and sustain jobs, reduce pollution and strengthen our position leading the world in greenhouse gas emissions reductions. ‘Resetting American Energy and Climate Policy,’ which includes an ‘Energy Operation Warp Speed,’ comes at a critical time when American dependence on foreign energy is front and center. It is extremely concerning that it took the current, international crisis to underscore the need for U.S. energy independence. Republicans have long warned that our dependence on energy sources from foreign adversaries would weaken our nation’s energy reliability and economy and threaten our national security. Russia’s invasion is just the latest example of why we must strengthen American energy resources domestically.
