CRES Statement on Reconciliation Bill Text

WASHINGTON – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) President Heather Reams issued the following statement in response to the reconciliation bill text released by the House Ways and Means Committee:

“CRES believes that many of the energy tax credits in current law are vital for our country’s energy dominance goals and meeting the needs of America’s energy sector and American consumers—lowering energy prices, increasing reliability and accelerating innovation. As supporters of all-of-the-above energy, we urge the House Ways and Means Committee to avoid action that will devalue the credits and make the challenge of meeting our American energy and manufacturing dominance all that much harder,” said CRES President Heather Reams. “We hope members will take this opportunity to bridge the gap in the committee’s bill to bolster American energy and manufacturing. American businesses require certainty to expand energy supply and onshore factories—protecting and increasing American jobs and lifting local economies. Congress should preserve the effectiveness of targeted energy tax credits and ensure important provisions in current law, such as transferability, remain in place. We look forward to continuing working with Republicans to address these issues and to ensure that American energy dominance utilizes all the energy resources at our disposal.”
