Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions issued the following statement on the passage of the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act in the U.S. House of Representatives:
“CRES commends the House and Senate for passing the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act, and we especially thank the 13 House Republicans and 19 Senate Republicans who worked with colleagues across the aisle to ensure this bill becomes law.
As we have long said, energy is infrastructure. That is why CRES is proud to support this legislation because it makes significant investments in our roads, bridges, and communities while also making meaningful investments in our clean energy future. This includes consequential permitting reform, so we can actually build the infrastructure to make that future possible. The bill invests in clean energy supply chains, and promotes American-made technologies. The legislation contains critical investments to upgrade our transmission assets, improve the grid’s resiliency, and support industrial efficient manufacturing, among many other provisions.
We hope the President swiftly signs the IIJA into law so that America can get back to work rebuilding our critical infrastructure and our clean energy future.”
