CRES Congratulates Rep. Elise Stefanik on Primary Victory

Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) President Heather Reams issued the following statement regarding U.S. Rep. Elise Stefanik’s (R-NY-21) primary election victory in New York:

“CRES was proud to endorse Rep. Stefanik due to her outstanding record of growing clean energy jobs and supporting policies that strengthen America’s energy future, build our clean energy economy, and promote a healthy environment. As House Republican Conference Chair, Rep. Stefanik has championed commonsense legislation to help reduce our nation’s carbon footprint as well as advance clean energy technologies to create good-paying jobs for the state of New York.

Rep. Stefanik is a key Republican sponsor for the Growing Climate Solutions Act, which will make carbon markets as accessible as commodity markets for America’s farmers, ranchers and foresters when they participate in carbon-friendly practices. Additionally, Stefanik co-sponsored the 2021 National Clean Energy Week Resolution and the bipartisan Trillion Trees Act, which promotes commonsense, resourceful legislation to naturally collect and sequester America’s carbon emissions.

In September 2018, CRES named Stefanik as a Clean Energy Champion for advocating for funding for the U.S. Department of Energy’s most important research and development behaviors and promoting clean energy technology and good stewardship of the environment as a member of the House Climate Solutions Caucus.
