CRES Congratulates New Energy and Commerce Chair Rep. Brett Guthrie

WASHINGTONCitizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) President Heather Reams today congratulated Rep. Brett Guthrie (R-Ky.) for being elected chair of the U.S. House Committee on Energy and Commerce.

“Congratulations to Rep. Brett Guthrie on his new role as chair of the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee,” said CRES President Heather Reams. “Rep. Guthrie is a proven leader and understands the importance of energy security, manufacturing and environmental stewardship. As a member of the Conservative Climate Caucus, he understands the importance of an all-of-the-above approach that prioritizes American-made solutions, and CRES looks forward to our continued partnership in the new Congress. As chair of National Clean Energy Week (NCEW), I was honored to welcome Rep. Guthrie to speak at NCEW this year where he reiterated the importance of continued investment in clean energy technologies and the economic opportunities they bring.”

In addition to his involvement in National Clean Energy Week, Rep. Guthrie has worked to unleash American energy, reduce energy costs, accelerate technological innovation and bolster America’s nuclear sector. Additionally, Rep. Guthrie was a major proponent of H.R.1, the Lower Energy Costs Act, which included commonsense policies to streamline permitting processes, spur innovation, develop more American-made energy and help the U.S. continue to lead the world in reducing emissions.
