WASHINGTON, DC – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Managing Director Heather Reams released the following statement on the nomination of Daniel Simmons to serve as Assistant Secretary for the Energy Department’s Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE).
“Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions congratulates Daniel Simmons on his nomination to lead the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy at the Department of Energy. Simmons has spent the last year as Acting Assistant Secretary at the EERE, where he established himself as a leader who understands the role that the free market and innovation play in developing new energy technologies that help to create jobs and protect the quality of our air and water. CRES looks forward to continuing to work with Mr. Simmons to promote policies that will increase abundant, affordable, and environmentally friendly energy production, so that American families can benefit from clean energy solutions for years to come.”
