Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions Congratulates Clean Energy Champions on Election Victory

November 9th — Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) released the following statement to congratulate its 2016 Clean Energy Champions on their election victories:

“Voters across the country reaffirmed what we have seen time and time again—advancing clean energy solutions is not only good policy, but it is also a significant part of a winning strategy for Republican candidates,” CRES Chairman James Dozier said.

CRES endorsed 29 Clean Energy Champions in 2016. With one race too close to call, 25 candidates won either election or reelection on Tuesday night.

“CRES is proud to congratulate our 2016 Clean Energy Champions. As CRES looks ahead to 2017, we look forward to working with the President-elect and Republican majorities in the U.S. House and Senate to ensure the continued implementation of renewable energy policy such as hydropower, wind, nuclear, and solar to preserve our climate and the quality of our air and water for future generations,” James Dozier concluded.

In addition to endorsing 29 candidates as Clean Energy Champions, CRES spent more than $1.7 million this cycle in support of candidates for the U.S. Senate and House who were focused on advancing renewable energy solutions.
