WASHINGTON, June 14, 2022—Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) today announced Spencer Talley has been hired as a government relations coordinator. Talley a recent graduate of Sewanee: The University of the South and former CRES intern, Talley also served as an intern to Rep. Tom Rice (R-SC) in his Washington, D.C. office.
“We are thrilled to welcome back Spencer to CRES as our government relations team continues to grow with young talent,” said Vice President of Government Relations Shawn Affolter. “With his previous internships with CRES and on the Hill, Spencer will play a meaningful role in our work to advocate for policy reform in the energy sector.”
At Sewanee, Talley majored in economics and minored in business while playing on the men’s lacrosse team. He is passionate about the environment and the outdoors, with experience working as a mountain services team member at the Big Sky Mountain Resort in Big Sky, MT, a volunteer for the White Mountain Forest, and a participant in the Sewanee Water Campaign, a student initiative to promote the banning of plastic water bottles on the Sewanee campus.
