Elizabeth Rowland serves as the Policy and Government Relations Coordinator at Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES), where she assists both teams through legislative tracking, stakeholder coordination and strategic administrative and event support. Drawing on her experience in both policy and legislative arenas, she focuses on advancing policies that ensure a reliable, affordable energy future while promoting environmental stewardship.
Elizabeth’s journey in public service was sparked by a passion for fostering sustainable people-centered policies that drive economic growth while safeguarding the environment. Most recently, she returned to Washington, D.C. after a season of hands-on experience with land management projects with the Utah Conservation Corps as an AmeriCorps Member. There, her crew focused on fuels reduction efforts on the wildland-urban interface of the Sanpete Valley and invasive species removal in national parks.
Elizabeth previously served as a Staff Assistant for U.S. Senator Susan M. Collins, where she managed the front office and worked closely with the Senator’s legislative team to draft constituent correspondence focused on critical energy, infrastructure and foreign policy issues. Elizabeth was also an active member of the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association, where she took advantage of its professional development resources and networking opportunities to foster her career growth on Capitol Hill.
Elizabeth is a graduate of The George Washington University, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Affairs with a concentration in International Development. She was also a member of the university’s Division I women’s rowing team, leading them to their first NCAA appearance since 1998. Additionally, Elizabeth served as Internal Vice President of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, where she organized community events for student-athletes and acted as a liaison to advocate for their needs within the athletic department.
In her spare time, she likes to volunteer at a local community garden in Edgewood that focuses on food insecurity in the neighborhood. She also loves hiking and camping, taking every opportunity to explore the outdoors and connect with nature.
