Gibson a Leader on Bipartisan Energy Solutions

Congressman Chris Gibson (NY-19) continues to show that he is a true leader in Congress, standing up for pragmatic solutions to our nation’s energy needs. When asked about proposed federal rules for cleaner power plants during a recent interview on WCNY, the Congressman said:

“If the endeavour is to increasingly put pressure on coal, and power plants in general, to become more efficient and more ecologically friendly, I think that’s a general concept that everybody should be behind, regardless of what party you’re in.”

Congressman Gibson has reached across the aisle and stood up to protect environmental standards that will strengthen the economy and preserve the environment both in New York and across the country. He has been a leader in both words and actions, voting to support policies that will leave a legacy of clean air and water for the next generation.

The Congressman has a long history of standing up for environmental safeguards. In March, he supported a legislative amendment accepting the scientific findings of the EPA that greenhouse gas pollution is “contributing to long-lasting changes in our climate that can have a range of negative effects.”

And Congressman Gibson understands that taking a pragmatic approach towards clean energy policy is not just good for the environment, it’s good for the economy as well. New York has been among the nation’s leaders in adding clean energy and transportation jobs during the first three months of 2014.
