CRES Statement on Senate Passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act

WASHINGTON, August 10, 2021 – Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) Executive Director Heather Reams today provided the following statement on the U.S. Senate’s passage of the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA):

“CRES has long advocated for bipartisan infrastructure legislation that works for all Americans; that’s why we applaud the Senate passing the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA). We particularly applaud the bill’s inclusion of clean energy provisions, many of which CRES has championed. These provisions will accelerate American-led innovation, continue fast-paced job growth, reduce pollution, and strengthen our position leading the world in greenhouse gas emissions reductions.

“When nearly three quarters of the U.S. Senate can come together to build bipartisan consensus, Americans take note—and so should the U.S. House of Representatives. We urge the House to pass the IIJA so we might unlock the many benefits of continued American leadership and clean energy innovation.”
