This April, we recognize Rep. Tim Moore (R-N.C.) as our CRESponsible Leader of the Month.
Representing North Carolina’s 14th District, Rep. Moore is a proven, steadfast champion for American energy leadership, innovation and economic opportunity for the nation and North Carolinians. Throughout the 119th Congress, he has advanced policies that promote next-generation clean energy, strengthen critical infrastructure, bolster supply chains and unleash America’s energy dominance.
Rep. Moore knows the importance of supporting new technologies that underscore American energy independence. His Next Generation Nuclear Deployment Act (H.R. 6805) will work to ensure the United States remains at the forefront of clean energy innovation by advancing our leadership in next-generation nuclear energy. This legislation will expand nuclear testing sites across the country, bolster private-public partnerships and utilize carbon-free energy to power the future of AI, space exploration and the lives of everyday Americans.
Recognizing that critical minerals are essential to everything from advanced military systems to the technology we use daily, Rep. Moore introduced the Critical Minerals Trade Security Act (H.R. 6659). This bill would establish a Chief Critical Minerals Negotiator within the Office of the United States Trade Representative that would lead the U.S. in securing stable, fair and diversified supply chains for critical minerals. By reducing reliance on adversarial foreign sources like China, the legislation aims to protect U.S. economic and national security interests.
Furthermore, Rep. Moore has been a consistent supporter of permitting reform and voted to pass an array of bills in December that will allow more domestic energy projects to move forward and to do so quicker. This includes mining and processing in North Carolina, which is home to substantial quantities of critical minerals like lithium and quartz that are needed for the production of batteries and semiconductors.
Additionally, in efforts to strengthen major critical energy infrastructure improvements and meet rising demand in North Carolina, Rep. Moore led a letter urging the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to support the Williams Transco Southeast Supply Enhancement Project. This project aims to deliver affordable, clean and reliable energy that will support job growth in innovative industries like advanced manufacturing and data centers.
Through his work on energy, infrastructure and trade, Rep. Moore is not only advancing national priorities; he is also creating meaningful economic opportunities for the people of North Carolina.
We are proud to name Rep. Moore as our CRESponsible Leader of the Month for April.
