CRESponsible Leader: Rep. Mike Lawler

This March, we recognize Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) as our CRESponsible Leader of the Month. A staunch supporter of an “all-of-the-above” approach to energy dominance, Lawler has supported legislation that boosts our economy and infrastructure.

Representing New York’s 17th District, Rep. Lawler understands that as energy demand grows, market certainty and grid reliability must remain at the center of our national energy strategy.

He is a leading voice for a diversified energy portfolio that ensures America is never dependent on foreign adversaries for its power, while recognizing that true energy security requires leveraging every source we have.

Rep. Lawler has a long legislative record of supporting American energy independence while preserving affordability for families. Last Congress, he supported major initiatives to increase U.S. energy independence and global competitiveness, including the Lower Energy Costs Act (H.R. 1), the Strategic Production Response (SPR) Act (H.R. 21) and the bipartisan ADVANCE Act (H.R. 6544) to accelerate advanced nuclear technologies.

Today, in the 119th Congress, he continues his leadership by tackling one of the biggest obstacles to energy innovation – permitting reform. He is the lead sponsor of the Fighting for Reliable Energy and Ending Doubt for Open Markets (FREEDOM) Act, which expedites judicial review, creates new protections for fully-permitted projects, establishes enforceable deadlines, and mandates de-risking programs and compliance reporting.

Rep. Lawler recognizes that for America to retain its competitive edge, we need a regulatory environment that attracts investment. By championing clean, affordable, and reliable energy solutions, he is ensuring that the U.S. remains a global energy leaders.

We are proud to name Rep. Lawler as our CRESponsible Leader of the Month for March.
