From the Land of Lincoln, Rep. Darin LaHood (R-Ill.) is February’s CRESponsible Leader.
Rep. LaHood’s legislative record reflects his dedication to supporting and advancing an all-of-the-above energy approach. In the 118th Congress, he supported legislation to strengthen energy security and resilience, including the Lower Energy Costs Act (H.R. 1), the Fix Our Forests Act, the Strategic Production Response (SPR) Act and supporting next-generation nuclear energy through the ADVANCE Act.
As a former manufacturing business leader, he believes American energy must be affordable and abundant, and that the United States can and should lead the globe in clean energy innovation and responsible emissions reduction. Add in his membership in the Conservative Climate Caucus (CCC), and it is clear Rep. LaHood champions solutions that balance environmental responsibility with economic growth.
He has also backed key legislation like the Regulations from the Executive in Need of Scrutiny (REINS) Act, Rep. Troy Balderson’s (R-Ohio) Congressional Review Act (CRA) to reverse the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Clean Power Plan 2.0 and Rep. John James’ (R-Mich.) CRA to nullify the EPA’s misguided “tailpipe rule,” demonstrating his focus on slashing onerous regulations and supporting energy solutions that work for every American.
Rep. LaHood continually demonstrates that all-of-the-above, American-made energy innovation strengthens our economy and lowers energy costs for all Americans. Recently, in applauding the selection of the Midwest Alliance for Clean Hydrogen (MachH2) for the Regional Clean Hydrogen Hub funding opportunity by the Department of Energy he stated, “In Congress, I will continue to support an all-of-the-above energy approach that invests in our domestic resources and returns our country to robust energy independence.”
We are proud to call Rep. Darin LaHood our CRESponsible Leader of the month.
