This November, we are proud to recognize Rep. Bruce Westerman (R-Ark.) as our CRESponsible Leader of the Month. Representing the Natural State, Chairman Westerman brings a pragmatic, all-of-the-above mindset to the energy debate—one that prioritizes rising energy demand, market stability, and a reliable electric grid. A consistent and dependable voice on energy issues, he has backed policies that strengthen domestic energy production while safeguarding grid reliability.
Rep. Westerman’s legislative record underscores his focus on reducing energy costs and strengthening America’s energy security. During the 118th Congress, he supported key efforts to boost U.S. energy independence and affordability, including the Lower Energy Costs Act (H.R. 1), the Strategic Production Response (SPR) Act (H.R. 21), and the bipartisan ADVANCE Act (H.R. 6544), aimed at accelerating advanced nuclear technologies. In the 119th Congress, he has continued that momentum by introducing bipartisan permitting legislation with Rep. Jared Golden (D-Maine) called the Standardizing Permitting and Expediting Economic Development or SPEED Act and the Fix Our Forests Act (H.R. 471) to improve forest management and mitigate wildfire risk—initiatives closely aligned with our mission.
Beyond legislation, Rep. Westerman has also helped elevate the national conversation around energy infrastructure. He recently sat down for an interview with Heather Reams, president and CEO of Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES), underscoring the critical need for permitting reform to meet growing energy demand. Rep. Westerman consistently demonstrates that delivering clean, affordable, and dependable energy is not just achievable, but necessary to achieving American energy dominance.
For his leadership, commitment to balanced policy, and dedication to energy innovation and economic opportunity, we are proud to name Rep. Bruce Westerman our CRESponsible Leader of the Month for November.
