CRES Celebrates Growing Communications, Government Relations and External Affairs Teams

WASHINGTON – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) announced the addition of four new team members to the organization’s communications, government relations, policy and external affairs teams. Whitney Folluo, who most recently served at the United States Institute of Peace (USIP) and as a Senate Foreign Relations Committee staffer, has joined as Director of Media Relations. Alyssa Jones, who previously worked as a Communications Manager with the Western Caucus Foundation, has joined CRES as a Communications Manager. Shannon O’Hare, who most recently served as a Coordinator with the U.S. Polar Leadership Project at the Wilson Center’s Polar Institute and as a former Congressional staffer with Sens. Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska), has joined as a Government Relations and Policy Manager. Eva Dupre, who formerly worked with the development events department at the American Enterprise Institute, has joined CRES’ External Affairs team as an Events Assistant.

“CRES’ continued growth is a testament to our unwavering commitment to advancing forward-thinking and commonsense clean energy solutions that benefit all Americans,” said CRES President Heather Reams. “I am thrilled to welcome Whitney, Alyssa, Shannon and Eva — each of whom brings deep expertise that will strengthen our mission as we work to bring real-time solutions to real-world energy challenges.”

“It is exciting to join CRES at a time when clean energy and American energy independence are more important than ever,” said Whitney Folluo. “I look forward to working alongside the CRES communications team as we showcase how innovation and smart policy can empower local communities, strengthen U.S. leadership abroad and help secure America’s future.”

“With President Trump declaring a national energy emergency, there’s never been a more critical time to engage in the all-of-the-above energy movement,” said Alyssa Jones. “I’m proud to apply my skill set in support of American energy production at an organization that actively influences policies to strengthen the nation’s energy independence and resource security.”

“Joining the team at CRES feels like a full-circle moment. As a Senate staffer, CRES events and resources contributed to my understanding of dense energy topics,” said Shannon O’Hare. “I look forward to working with the Government Relations and Policy teams to advance pragmatic energy solutions across the country, including in my home state of Alaska.”

“As the Events Assistant, I am eager to help CRES showcase the importance of all-of-the-above energy solutions through event engagement with congressional staff, stakeholders and industry leaders,” said Eva Dupre. “CRES is a dynamic organization advocating for commonsense solutions to keep America safe and energy dominant. I’m glad to be a part of the team!”

Whitney Folluo brings years of experience in strategic communications, media relations and foreign affairs to the CRES communications team. A lifelong Alaskan from Chugiak, Shannon O’Hare grew up valuing responsible resource development, shaped by summers dip-net fishing on the Kenai River and a deep respect for Alaska’s energy-driven economy. She began her public service career at 19, working for Senator Dan Sullivan (R-Alaska) and later Senator Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) in Washington, D.C. In her most recent Hill role, she served as a Legislative Aide for then-Vice Chair Murkowski on her Senate Indian Affairs Committee team. Following her time in the Senate, O’Hare joined the Wilson Center’s Polar Institute as the U.S. Polar Leadership Project Coordinator, elevating American leadership and strategic priorities in the Arctic including national security, energy development and maritime resource management. Outside of work, O’Hare serves as Vice President of the Alaska State Society, a 501(c)(4) nonprofit organization hosting events for more than 300 Alaskans and friends of Alaska living in Washington, D.C. She holds both an Associate of Arts and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science with a concentration in Arctic Affairs from the University of Alaska Anchorage.
