WASHINGTON – Today, Citizens for Responsible Energy Solutions (CRES) President Heather Reams released a statement on the final rule for the Advanced Manufacturing Production Credit (Section 45X of the Internal Revenue Code) issued by the U.S. Department of the Treasury.
“The U.S. Treasury Department’s final rule for the advanced manufacturing tax credit is a positive step towards onshoring critical supply chains essential for clean energy technologies,” said CRES President Heather Reams.
“45X will help our country produce minerals, materials, and clean energy technology at home – reducing reliance on foreign entities with poor environmental and labor track records.
“Going forward, we must enact additional policies that promote domestic mining to prevent the monopolization and weaponization of critical mineral supply chains by China.
“CRES looks forward to advocating for new policies necessary for securing our supply chains, lowering global emissions, strengthening American industry, enhancing our energy security and ensuring that we remain competitive in the global clean energy market.”
